Symptoms & Diagnosis

Signs and symptoms of cancer women shouldn't ignore

The warning signs of gynecologic cancers can be vague and similar to those of other conditions. Even still, every woman is at risk for developing gynecologic cancer. You should proactively look out for the following signs and symptoms as they can be the first indicator of a possibility of cancer.

  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Vaginal discharge colored with blood
  • Constant fatigue
  • Swollen leg
  • Loss of appetite or feeling full all the time
  • Pain in the pelvis or abdominal area
  • A bloated belly
  • Constantly needing bathroom breaks
  • Persistent indigestion or nausea

Having one or more of these symptoms, doesn’t necessarily mean that you have cancer. It is important to discuss these symptoms with your doctor if they happen to last more than 2 weeks and undergo further diagnosis, to arrive at a concrete conclusion.

Our Diagnostic Services

Early detection is the best defence against gynecologic cancers. We can speed up the diagnosis process in cases where further steps seem unclear. Our service provides an efficient path to reach an appropriate diagnosis and avoid unnecessary testing and delays in treatment. We have comfortable and private testing areas to conduct the following diagnostic tests and procedures:

  • Pap smear
  • Pelvic exam
  • Percutaneous biopsy
  • Endometrial tissue sample
  • Ultrasound (sonography)
  • MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)
  • CT (computed tomography) scan
  • PET (positron emission tomography) scan
  • PET-CT scan

After diagnostic tests are done, your doctor will review all the results with you and suggest suitable treatment based on the condition detected.
